Public Disco Society ("we", "us", or "our") is a Vancouver-based non-profit society. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect personal information in connection with the Public Disco Festival and related events and programming.

We are committed to handling your personal information with care, in accordance with applicable Canadian privacy law, including the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) of British Columbia.

2.1 Ticketing Data

When you purchase a ticket through our ticketing provider, Admit One, the following information is collected:

  • Full name

  • Email address

  • Payment information (processed and stored by Admit One, not by Public Disco Society)

  • Ticket type and order details

Please refer to Admit One's Privacy Policy for details on how they handle payment and transaction data. Public Disco Society does not store your credit card or payment credentials.

2.2 Email Marketing

If you opt in to our mailing list (at point of ticket purchase or via our website), we collect your email address for the purpose of sending event announcements, newsletters, and programming updates.

You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send, or by contacting us directly.

2.3 On-Site Information

At our events, we may collect your name for will-call or guest list purposes. We do not collect biometric or government identification information beyond what is reasonably required for age verification or venue access.

We use the personal information we collect to:

  • Process and fulfil ticket purchases

  • Send event-related communications (including confirmations and schedule updates)

  • Send marketing emails, if you have opted in

  • Improve our events and programming through aggregate, anonymised data

  • Meet legal or regulatory obligations

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

We may share your information with:

  • Admit One, as our ticketing platform and service provider

  • Email marketing platforms used to distribute our newsletters

  • Event production partners, only where operationally necessary (e.g., venue security or will-call lists)

  • Law enforcement or regulatory authorities, where required by law

Any third-party service providers are required to handle your information in a manner consistent with this policy.

We retain your personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law. Ticketing records may be retained for up to seven years for accounting and legal compliance purposes.

You may request deletion of your marketing preferences or contact information at any time by emailing us at the address below.

Under British Columbia's PIPA, you have the right to:

  • Request access to the personal information we hold about you

  • Request correction of inaccurate information

  • Withdraw consent to the collection or use of your information, subject to legal or contractual restrictions
